There are three specific objectives:
(i) In relation to undergraduates and graduates:
(a) At Master's level, we aim to provide students with the opportunity to enhance their academic knowledge, in addition to developing their research skills in the Linguistic Studies area, linked to a Poslin line of research, in addition to the respective laboratories and centers. Students are expected to acquire the knowledge necessary to produce a dissertation, the content of which reveals the capacity for systematization and mastery of the relevant scientific methodology, as per parameters defined by Poslin Regulations. Last but not least, we aim to raise students' awareness of the importance of criticism and scientific debate, which occurs by means of promoting the publication of articles and participation in national events, as well as through faculty clarifications on the need to integrate the student body in the centers and laboratories linked to Poslin. These measures are geared towards a more rounded training that is closer to the reality of academia in Brazil.
(b) At Doctorate level, we set out to enable students to not only enhance their academic knowledge but also develop their ability to carry out advanced research in the area of Advanced Linguistics, linked to a Poslin line of research, as well as the respective laboratories and centers. The thesis produced must represent a significant contribution to the development of knowledge in the field, with a view to promoting the advancement of scientific thinking. The Program also encourages the completion of an internship abroad, since exchanges between institutions result in a broader educational experience. The promotion of the exchange option is also a goal, since it contributes to the learning of the future lecturer. (c) With regard to recent graduates, our goal is that, at the end of the master's and/or doctorate course, we have prepared a professional capable of performing lecturing and research activities. To put it another way, our aim is to produce master's and doctorate holders who have the knowledge to lecture in reputable universities, can dedicate themselves to research and supervision at initial master's level (in the case of recent graduates) and doctorate level in the future, as well as being able to maintain or create new research groups.
(d) At the post-doctorate level, the program aims to promote advanced studies, providing participants with training and an updating of knowledge. There is also an attempt to strengthen ties between institutions, facilitating the exchange of experiences and know-how on the national and international stages.
(ii) In relation to lecturers, Poslin aims to promote and support the development of activities in research, lecturing and extension that allow for the consolidation and expansion of the projects and lines of research that comprise the Program. It also strives to encourage exchanges between national and international institutions.
(iii) In relation to the institution, Poslin aims to contribute to the consolidation of its leadership profile in the training of researcher-lecturers by strengthening the lines of research and constantly supplying it with new projects and new researchers.
