The Master's and Doctoral programs are organized around academic activities categorized as Foundations and Variable Topic Seminars.

The Foundations activities, with a workload of 60 hours, offer basic consolidated content for the field of study. The Variable Topic Seminars (VTS), with a workload of 15, 30, 45, or 60 hours, depending on the content defined by the instructor, provide specialized training in the areas of concentration and their respective research lines. The 15-hour VTS also include short intensive courses taught by visiting professors from other (Brazilian and foreign) universities. All academic activities are elective, but the Foundations activities, offered annually, are strongly recommended to all students.

Poslin predominantly offers on-site courses in Portuguese. Although some activities may be offered in hybrid or online formats, it is not a distance graduate program. Some activities are offered in English, Spanish, German, or French, especially when taught by visiting professors. The courses offered by area are as follows:
